Can someone please explain basic course marking scheme? On the website it
indicates:

Requirements 5%
Design 5%
Implementation 5%
Black Box Integration 5%
White Box Unit 5%
Demo 5%

What constitues marks for Black Box and White Box testing and where do the
System Tests that we are designing/writting fit into this marking scheme?

Also, if I recall right, if our project mark was better than the midterm
mark, we were able to count the project for 50% of our mark (instead of
30). If this is the case, does that mean that each of these 5%'s become
worth 8.3%?

Thanks,
Andrew

The black box/white box marking scheme is confusing. But as for your
question about the midterm, the prof made a post earlier saying that
your mark is:

Max(
(0.2 * midterm + 0.3 * project + 0.5 * final),
(0.4 * project + 0.6 * final)
)

So each of these becomes 6.667 instead of 5 if you drop the midterm.

Also, as far as I can see, there is no policy that you have to pass the
exam to pass the course. If this requirement has not stated clearly,
then it cannot be enforced since there are no rules in the School of CS
about having to pass the exam component to pass the course.

I just wanted to bump this post up again as it seems to have been
forgotten. During class last Wednesday, Prof. Kontogiannis said he would
clarify this on the newsgroup. I would really appreciate if we could find
out how the course will be marked before this weekend. I find studying
easier when I know where my mark stands prior to the final.

Along the same lines, will we be receiving the marks for our delivery 2
and demo before the final?

Thanks,
Andrew
